About Me

Hello! My name is Wandile Nhlapo, and I am an aspiring software developer with a growing passion for building impactful applications. I recently completed a Software Engineering Internship at Bitcube, where I focused on deepening my knowledge of React, building on my solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. My background also includes Java, and over time I’ve grown particularly confident with C#, which has become one of my dominant programming languages. I’m not yet a pro, but I keep pushing myself forward through personal projects and continuous learning across different technologies. This journey has taught me the value of persistence, growth, and curiosity. With every project and challenge, I aim to improve and move closer to becoming a well-rounded developer. I’m excited about the road ahead and look forward to contributing to meaningful projects while advancing my skills in software development.

Projects

• Weather App (React): A simple, responsive weather application built with React that fetches real-time weather data from OpenWeatherMap. Users can search for any city worldwide and instantly see its weather information.
• Movie Search App (React): A simple React application that lets users search for movies using the OMDB API. Search results display the movie poster, title, and release year. Built with React, CSS, and JavaScript.
• To-Do List App (React): A simple and responsive to-do list application built with React. Add tasks, mark them as complete, and stay organized—all in a sleek interface.
• Event Management System: A Java desktop application designed to streamline event planning, attendee registration, and venue management. Built with Swing for the GUI and JDBC for database connectivity, this project demonstrates core principles of object-oriented programming, modular design, and user interface development.
• BMI Calculator: A simple app for calculating BMI.
• Election Voting App: A tool for calculating election results.
• Sales Tax Calculator: The app calculates sales tax based on the user's input of an amount.
• Colour Guessing Game: A simple console game where users guess colours.
• Descending Order App: This app sorts a set of random numbers provided by the user in descending order.
